Company Profile
Percy Short & Cuthbert is a small firm of solicitors that has been established for more than 100 years and provides services to individual clients and small businesses. The firm moved to its modern offices in June 1997. Our accounts, time recording and word processing systems are computerised and the equipment and software are constantly up-dated. The partners are Bill Boyes, qualified in 1973, Stephen Friday, qualified in 1990 and Shobha Naik qualified in 1996. In November 1999 we were joined by John Selby, previously the principal of Montague Gardner & Selby of Dalston. The other fee earning staff are Vanessa Taebi and Naureen Matlib, solicitors, Gill Noury and Nicolette Nixon paralegals and Rubina Begum, trainee solicitor. We have a contract with the Community Legal Service (“CLS”) to provide publicly funded services to clients. We have franchises for family, housing and crime work. This requires us to comply with the quality assurance standards of the CLS. It includes standards relating to auditing of files, financial management and training. The law is complex and it is part of our task to ensure that you are correctly advised and represented. We endeavour to anticipate problems and advise on all points which may concern clients. However, there are bound to be occasions when we overlook matters or you are concerned about a point which has not occurred to us. If you do have any queries, please ask us.
