We understand that being arrested and possibly being charged with a criminal offence can be one of life’s most traumatic experiences, whether you are innocent or guilty. Our criminal law practitioners, John Selby and Nicolette Nixon, have over 30 years experience in dealing with all aspects of criminal law and regularly attend police stations on an emergency and pre-arranged basis. John Selby is both a police station and court duty solicitor and has been so since the present scheme began. We pride ourselves on our instant response to all emergency calls whatever the hour.
We have acted in cases involving various types of criminal offence, ranging from shoplifting to murder to serious “white collar crime” such as fraud. Much of our work is carried out under our Community Legal Services contract (as "Legal Aid" work) but we also undertake privately funded cases which, for whatever reason, may not eligible for public funding. This will include the majority of cases relating to driving offences.
We offer consistency of representation throughout and, because we are a small department, offer a personal service of high quality and tailored to the needs of each individual client. We work with a number of barristers at the crown courts who have been handpicked by ourselves over the years. We match specific cases and clients with the most appropriate barristers to ensure the best possible representation at all levels.
The Criminal Justice System can be a bewildering maze and our aim is to guide clients through it with the minimum stress and the maximum benefit. For information about our fees or to instruct us, please contact John Selby John Selby on 07956 610254 or Nicolette Nixon on 07958 771953.
