Residential Property

We understand that moving home can be a stressful experience. We understand also that buying a property for the first time, and dealing with all the legal terminology and phrases used in the procedure, can be bewildering. We aim to demystify the process and reassure you by offering advice in plain English, explaining technical legal terms and offering you one-to-one contact in order to keep you up-to-date as to the progress of your transaction.

In order to provide an efficient and speedy service we have installed a case management IT system and make wide use of email correspondence where requested by our clients. We have also set up online access to H. M. Revenue & Customs to deal with stamp duty land tax issues as promptly as possible.

As well as representing clients moving home we also act in residential property transactions for investment purposes, in connection with the disposal and sub-division of land and refinancing or re-mortgaging of property. We also act for clients, both landlords and tenants, in leasehold transactions, for example in granting, assigning, varying and extending leases.

We have in-depth knowledge, experience and expertise in shared ownership work, including purchases and re-sales of shared ownership properties and buying further shares in the property (also known as staircasing). We are, therefore, on the Housing Associations’ approved list of legal firms undertaking shared ownership work. Given our location close to the Arsenal F.C. regeneration area we have been involved particularly in acting for first-time buyers (including key-workers) at large, local developments.
